To state that our relationship with the host country of our bases in Japan are strained right now is likely a huge understatement. We have ths festering thing over MCAS Futenema north of Naha on the Japanese island of Okinawa. Closing that base and cedeing that land
back to the Japanese will not do anything to degrade America's defense posture in North Asia. Either move the Marines to Kadena Air Base or SE Japan or more logiclly - Korea.

This attitude that we are still their WW II conqueror has to cease!
