27,728,675 to be exact. And this was over 2176 FISA Court ordered surveillance. Simple math (using a calculator - that long division stuff is too far back in the brain file to do with paper and pencil)
gives me 12,742 taped sessions per court order. Twelve thousand! Well,
considering that has to include voice, fax, and email - maybe that number isn't so big.
My point is - If I have that much data on somebody suspected of wrong doing or planning to do wrong - then arrest his ass! Other-wise, leave him be.........

These tapes were allegedly destroyed overseas. Four top White House lawyers debated destroying these tapes. Well, you have to view something to make that decision - so there must have been a copy here
in the United States.

Everyone seems to be jumping on this and ingnoring the White House and the Attorney General in doing so with hearings. And, the White House will stone-wall this as much as they can.
However, the Federal Judge that AG Mukasey asked to not order hearing has done so as has the Senate Judiciary Committee.

wire-tap scandal worked.
