I will be sixty years old in October and I am proud to say that I am was Reagan Republican. George W. Bush changed that. Today, I don't know if what I am typing is being monitored or whether that phone call I just made was listened to. I can, umderstand protecting America - but, with GW and Cheney in charge? No. What we have is what the US Constitution forbids. We certainly don't need a feeble minded man in the Oval Office who is putty in the neo-conservatives hands....
One bright spot - the fall election will likely give the Democrats a fillibuster proof majority in Congress.
May God bless this great nation. And, may he damn George W. Bush to the fiery depths.......

Five and a half years? We went kept this man is custody and subjected him to lkely acts that the World Court would call torture and give him a "light" sentence. "Shut your ass up about what we did and you can go home". But, of course, Salim Hamdan may be kept at GITMO after his the man serves his five month sentence (he got credit for time served)because he is an enemy combatent.

Thw Iraqi government is again working to establish a time-line for the withdrawl of US and other forces from their country. Even, the Shiite leader of the Medhi militia, Muguata al-Sadr said that he would start disbanding his militia if the US started withdrawling troops on a set time line. The White House and Senator McCain still cling to this non-sense about "conditions on the ground". McCain still brags about the surge. Ok, as far as reducing violence; the surge was a great success. Violence did and still does occur after this action. The purpose of the surge was to give the Iraqi's time to make a try and a political compromise. That is unlikely because of the severe religeous differnces. I think that al-Maliki wants US forces out and that is when the crack-down or maybe even religious cleansing will occur. What has to happen in Iraq has to happen.

Naturally, like every other issue - CNN is milking this story - huge. But, the fact is - the man is an adulter and a liar. And, he committed these disgraceful deeds while his wife was fighting cancer. I think he would have made a great Attorney General under President Barack Obama. Now, he is political toast. And, rightly so.

I just learned that Senator John McCain has been in in Senate twenty- six years! This is way too damned long for anyone to be in that position. We need a two term limit. And, lets lessen the Senate term to four years like the Congress. I also want an age limit - age 70 imposed on elected or appointed officials. Then, after leaving office they are to be prohibited from working as a lobbyist or have any business contact with the US Government either directly or non-directly for a period of ten years.
