The US Secret Service stopped screening attendees for weapons prior to a speech by Senator Barack Obama in Dallas more than one hour prior
to the event. Dallas Police raised concerns and the Secret Service refused to comment on the situation. Many blacks fear an attempt on
Obama's life. So, here is the question unanswered by the Secret Service - why? Espescially in Dallas! Didn't you lose a former President right here?
Who ordered this and why?

Bush is demanding that Congress pass the FISA bill with immunity for tel-coms and states that he will not compromise. That sounds just like George W. Bush. He still doesn't realize that he is a lame duck
President with a popularity rating lower than whale shit.
I don't see him able to demand anything except a bus ticket back to

It is absolutely critical that Senator Clinton be seen as the victor in tonights debate - a tie will be the same as a loss. I don't see a
confrontational approach as a winning strategy.

The Republicans are holding out for a "rubber stamp" approval of the
Senate FISA bill which included retroactive immunity from civil lawsuits for the telecommunications comapanies that aided the President in breaking the law. I would do a compromise - a limited
amount immunity tied with a responsibility to speak openly about what
transpired with the unwarranted wire-taps.

GW's team at Guantamano Bay is keen on getting convictions - I mean some of these people have been held for years without charges. However, now it seems that even if one of the detainees were to get an
aquittal - that may not be a guarantee of freedom. It appears in the
White Houses legal mind that some of these people are being held for a specific reason not tied specifically to any particular crime. Sounds like someone wants to keep what someone knows secret......
