John McCain called Valamir Putin the President of Germany. Germany doesn't have a President it has a Chancellor, and her name is Angela
Merkel. Valadimir Putin is the Prime Minister of Russia.
How could a senior US Senator confuse who the Valadmir Putin was? Well, unless that was a "senior moment". I don't want someone who clearly is often confused and angers quickly - which are signs of
dementia in our White House.

lobbyist, Jack Abramoff influenced White House decisions and met with
President Bush six times. It appears that he had hundreds of contacts with the Bush White House.
This report contradicts White House claims about Abramoff's level of
access. GW stated, "I don't know the man".

Fifty-Six House Democrats urged the US Attorney General Michael Mukasey to appoint a special counsel to examine whether top Bush officials may have committed crimes in authorizing harsh interrogation tactics with suspected terrorist. Sadly, Michael Mukasey
lied when he told Congress that he would not become "the" President's
lawyer and instead represent We The People. That is going to be a problem as the "Kangaroo Court" trials at Guantamano Bay are filled with allegations of torture.
Bush needed the tribunals to be military and in Cuba. He would like to
execute the people in Cuba. He will do anything to keep the cases out
of United States Federal Court system. And, they will fail.
People, we are looking at a dark history for America. Most readers know that I am retired Air Force. As a young Airman, I read all the
POW books about North Vietnam. I remember Colonel Robie Reisners's book - "The Passing of Night". Those Americans tortured almost universally oppose "water-boarding". One major exepition is Senator

There should be no immunity for the tel-coms who violated the law.
Now, I will go this far; Sarge believes that these companies acted in good faith with the government and should not be punished. However, they must testify before Congress about what transpired.

The issue here isn't the telcoms - it is the arrogant abuse of power
mindset in the White House that rules don't apply.
Sorry, they do. Even for the President.
